Low-Carb Diet Tested as Way to Slow Recurrent Prostate Cancer

Findings from a small randomized phase 2 trial showed that overweight men with recurrent prostate cancer (PCa) who adhered to an extremely low-carbohydrate diet for 6 months experienced dramatic weight loss compared with those who did not, researchers reported at the 2018 Genitourinary Cancers Symposium. Comparing Daily vs Weekly Image-Guided Radiotherapy for Prostate Cancer

Daily image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT) may reduce the rate of late rectal toxicity vs weekly therapy, according to research being presented at the 2018 Genitourinary Cancers Symposium in San Francisco, California. Daily IGRT was, however, also associated with a greater risk of secondary cancers and worse overall survival (OS). Read the article here.
