Trained volunteers, all prostate cancer survivors themselves, will talk to you and your family by telephone or in the hospital. On a weekly basis, post-surgical patients in Toronto General Hospital and Sunnybrook Hospital are visited by our volunteers who bring them a message of support and hope.
Trained volunteers are also available at the following Prostate Cancer Centres:
- Weekdays at the Prostate Cancer Centre at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (PMCC) – 4th floor
- Thursday clinics at the Odette Cancer Centre (OCC), formerly known as the Toronto-Sunnybrook Regional Cancer Centre (TSRCC)
- Tuesday afternoon at the North York General Hospital’s Gale and Graham Wright Prostate Centre – located at their Branson site, 555 Finch Ave. West, 3rd Floor, Toronto ON M2R 1N5 / Tel: 416-635-2491
These centres each have a room dedicated to providing support services for patients and their families. Interactive computer programs, videos, reference books, various topical magazines and other printed information are also available. Volunteers are there to assist you in finding information and, as survivors, are willing to talk about day to day management of prostate cancer and all its treatment options.
No appointment is necessary; when you are at PMCC, OCC or Branson for a medical appointment, just drop in.
