November 2020 Awareness Night

There IS Sex after Prostate Cancer!

Dr. Stephen Holzapfel, MD, CCFP, FCFP

Assoc. Prof., Dept. of Family and Community Medicine,
and Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynecology, U. Toronto
Dir. of the Sexual Medicine Counselling Unit Dept. of Family and Community Medicine at Women’s College Hospital

His goals for the Awareness Nights presentation was to provide some education on the sexual effects of Prostate Cancer to men and their partners, potential treatments for these, to answer questions and to facilitate a discussion among members of the audience around this intimate and often taboo subject.  He wanted to encourage cancer survivors to be able to bring their questions and concerns to their physician’s attention.  This should always lead to support, and often help in moving forward.

Remember, SEX is NOT a 4-letter word!

The session will include a Q and A component.

This Awareness Night was held on the Zoom platform (our first) so it will look different from the usual presentation.
