In addition to the various group meeting, we offer support on a more individualistic level, especially for people who feel more comfortable interacting with one person at a time.
We have a telephone Support Line at 416-932-8820. Leave a reasonably detailed message and one of our volunteers will call back as soon as possible. We maintain lists of experiences so that the most appropriate person can return calls. This service is also available via email at info@pcstoronto.ca. Because a diagnosis of prostate cancer can affect the entire family, peer support and advice is also available to partners and caregivers of newly diagnosed men and survivors.
What If I Don’t Want To Go To a Support Group Meeting?
We understand that not all men are comfortable in a group setting and having to speak about their symptoms and side-effects in a room full of other men. We are partnering with the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and British Columbia Agency to bring you a one-on-one peer support program called TrueNTH (True NORTH) Peer Navigation. Click here for more details or click on the poster below to connect with the TrueNTH Peer Navigation Program sponsored by Movember and Prostate Cancer Canada. This program connects you with a Peer Navigator who has experienced prostate cancer and is trained to guide you through your journey. Note that this program is available for partners/caregivers as well as the prostate cancer patient.
We also visit the local cancer hospitals, both in the clinics and post-op for men who have had surgery. Click here for details.
